You Have Made Me
Your hands fashioned and made me, and now you have destroyed me altogether. Remember that you have made me like clay; and will you return me to the dust?
Job 10: 8-9

You Have Made Me
God is our creator. He has given us life and given it in abundance. Job beautifully acknowledges this fact. He paints an image of God as a master sculptor, fashioning man from clay. And this is in fact what God has done. Unlike all the rest of God’s creation, which He spoke into existence by His Word, God chose to become intimately involved in the creation of man. In Genesis 2 we are told how God formed man and breathed life into him. His is not a distance hands off approach. God shaped and molded us in His own image. And then coming face to face breathed life into Adam, so that when man opened his eyes for the very first time in history, it is the face of God which he sees. If God goes to this length to create you, He certainly will continue to watch over you, care for you, and love you. And we are told exactly how deeply God loves His creation, for in this way God loved the world, “that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
