No Law Means No Transgression

13 For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void. 15 For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression.
Romans 4:13-15

No Law Means No Transgression

The Christian life functions on the Word of God alone. Everything that happens in the Church is dependent upon this Word made flesh among us. Not one of us can keep the Law. All of us need the Word of God to rescue us from our own destruction. Faith is alive in each of us by the work of the Holy Spirit. He shows us by the proclamation of the Word that the promises of God are true and that he always keeps that Word. Thanks be to God that he has kept the Law perfectly and has wiped away our transgressions in his blood. The promise is to Abraham and to his offspring. The promise is to you. You have been made a child of Abraham through Baptism into Jesus' death and resurrection. In the face of sin and accusation, remember, you are Baptized. Jesus brings salvation to you.
