God's Workmanship
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

God's Workmanship
You are the Lord's doing. He makes you marvelous in his sight by washing you in the blood of Jesus in your baptism. The world would convince us that we made ourselves and that we can decide to do with our bodies what we want. We can eat, drink, and be merry. We can hold grudges, be angry, hurt or harm our neighbor, just as long as everything works out in the end. But that is not what our Lord says about who we are. We are made by him. He knit us together in our mother's womb. He knew us before we were born. He prepared good works for his people to do. You are washed in the blood of Jesus' cross. You are made clean by his death. You are claimed as his own children when he washed you in your Baptism. Now he puts his Spirit in us that we can hear his Word and do the works that are pleasing to him. He prepared them for us. The faithful do them. It is his marvelous work.
