And when they had performed everything according to the Law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. 40 And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him. Luke 2:39-40

The Return to Nazareth
The Lord Jesus was born in Bethlehem. He had to be born in the City of David. Joseph, Mary, and Jesus would stay there for a little time. A jealous puppet king would force them to flee. The world is always against the Lord Jesus, even when he was a little child. But the Holy Family would settle back in a little town in Galilee. It was where they had lived before Jesus was born and they returned there. Nazareth was built on a hill and there the Lord Jesus would grow and learn. Good things, great things, the best things can come from Nazareth. The very Lord of Life makes little insignificant Galilean hill side towns important. He makes little insignificant sinners righteous and important in the courts of heaven by his suffering and death. His blood changes us and transforms us. The favor of God was upon Jesus and now, because of his cross, it is also on you.
