The Father

8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.
John 14:8-11

The Father
The fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Jesus. This is the second person of the Holy Trinity made flesh for you and me. The Holy Trinity is a mystery and yet a great blessing to you and me. Jesus is under authority. We are under authority. This is for good order and for the grace that is delivered to us. The Father's great love for you is worked out by the incarnation of Jesus, his death, his resurrection, and his ascension back to his right hand. Jesus conforms his will and work to his Father's will. He makes his Father your Father in his death and resurrection. We become like Jesus, under authority and filled with grace, because of Jesus great work to rescue and to save.
