Do Not Be Afraid
25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Do Not Be Afraid
The world thinks it knows what peace is. It strives for an end to conflict and a cessation of war even as a new war crops up and another steals and plunders. The Christian knows that conflicts will continue and suffering is the fruit of this world. But the Christian also knows that Christ Jesus has won peace for us that lasts forever. The peace he won and delivers by the hand of the Holy Spirit is heavenly peace and reconciliation with the Heavenly Father. This Holy Spirit teaches us all things and brings to remembrance all the promises of Jesus. This is the Spirit that delivers to you the things of victory. When the struggle goes long and a new war and new problems crop up, find comfort in this peace. Don’t let your hearts be troubled, your God has beat back every one of your enemies and won the victory for you.
