David’s Son
But he said to them, “How can they say that the Christ is David’s son? For David himself says in the Book of Psalms, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”’ David thus calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”

David’s Son
Living in an age of reason and science, we have been conditioned to think that there is an answer to every question. Yet, that simply is not the case. As is with the question Jesus poses to the scribes, there is no earthly answer that will suffice. Only the incarnation can answer Jesus’ question. He is both man, David’s son, and God, David’s Lord. We dare not defer to human reason to answer all the truths of Scripture. David’s son has become our Lord through His death and resurrection, and the Father has exalted Jesus to His right hand. This is the witness of Scripture and it defies all human reason and logic. Yet it stands as truth, along side the death and resurrection of Christ, His atonement for us lowly sinners, and our forgiveness and righteousness in Him.
