25 “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26 people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:25–28

The Coming of the Son of Man
There is a promise. The victorious One, our Lord Jesus Christ, will come back. He is always good to his promises. He always keeps his Word. He has kept every promise he has ever made. He has taken away your sin and nailed it to his cross. He has made you his own in the waters of Baptism. He has given you his Body and Blood to eat and drink in the Lord's Supper. He will come again to take you to heaven. He has gone to prepare a place for you. It is easy to believe the world when it says that he has forgotten you or that he doesn't exist. He has not forgotten you. He does exist and he will come again to bring you to himself. You are his beloved. He went to the cross to have you. He paid with his own precious blood and his innocent suffering and death to have you has his own. You have won the victory in him. He comes soon.
