Faith in Him
in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him. So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.

Faith in Him
The need for education and training in our society is important. We want to know that the professionals who we rely on can actually do the job they say they can. So we look to the bona fides, their university degree, or technical certificates. We make sure they are licensed and bonded before contracting them. Even our pastors go through many years of study before being ready to accept a call to serve a congregation. But in the end, what makes our vocations and service worthwhile is not what we do but what God does though us, as He uses flawed individuals such as you and me to share His Word of life and salvation. Paul defends his call as an apostle by emphasizing its basis in the Gospel. Though our personal credentials are important, our service is based on God’s gifts and calling, which stem from the Gospel. May our Lord lead us to serve according to His gifts and calling, rather than by our reason or strength.
